finding my way back to the stage

Much time has passed since I appeared on a comedy stage.
Last night I decided with all the personal ups and downs the past few months have shown, now is the time to heal thy self.

I went to two rooms last night. The Orlando Improv and Spacebar. Both rooms were featuring local comics and what a eye opener for me.

My take away is writing material takes time and preparation. Many of the comics I watched last night told stories that did not have punchlines.  My impression was many  of these comics' inner voice must be" I am so damn interesting of course this will get laughs."

Comedy in form is constructed and purposeful.

I know the craft of comedy is not easy. My views of others work cannot be taken seriously until I too create a set that is memorable.

Time to stop watching and start writing. I have nothing to loose. Here I go.....
